HYROX 8 Kilometer Run

During the 8 Runs of 1km, your energy strategy should focus on steady fueling early and ramping up toward the final rounds. Start with SiS GO Isotonic Gel, GU Energy Gel, and Amino VITAL® Perfect Energy — these are non-caffeinated, fast-absorbing options ideal for the earlier runs to top up glycogen stores without causing spikes. As the runs progress and fatigue sets in, introduce stronger options like GU Roctane Energy Gel, Maurten Caffeine Gel, and SiS Beta Fuel + Nootropics in the final 2–3 runs for both carbohydrate and mental boosts.

Reference / Guide

  • Early Runs (1-3): SiS GO Isotonic Gel / GU Energy Gel
  • Middle Runs (4-6): GU Energy Chews + Amino VITAL® Perfect Energy
  • Final Runs (7-8): Maurten Caffeine Gel or GU Roctane / SiS Beta Fuel + Nootropics
  • Take hydration or chews every 2–3 km if needed, especially in a dry environment.
  • Timing: One gel every 25–30 mins, chew slowly between runs.
