SiS explains that this lets the gel leave the stomach quickly without drawing in extra fluid to dilute it, which is why GO Isotonic is designed to be taken without water. The trade-off is volume: at 60ml, it is larger than many concentrated gels that provide a similar amount of carbohydrate.

SiS describes GO Isotonic as the world's first isotonic energy gel, and it won the Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2015.

When to use

GO Isotonic is intended for use during training and racing as part of a fuelling plan.
